The TAE40116 – Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is Australia’s leading training qualification, suited to workplace training roles across many industries. In this qualification, you will learn essential skills in the design, delivery and assessment of vocational based training. TAE College provides an easy pathway for candidates to transition from the previous TAE40110 – Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (Superseded) qualification to the latest TAE40116 – Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. The two qualifications are not equivalent.

*TAELLN401A – Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills, is listed as one of the elective units under TAE40110 – Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. This unit is superseded by and equivalent to TAELLN411 – Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills.

* TAEASS502B – Design and develop assessment tools, is listed as one of the elective units under TAE40110 – Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. This unit is superseded by and equivalent to TAEASS502 – Design and develop assessment tool.

Some students who hold TAE40110 – Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (Superseded) will already have one or both of the required new added core units for TAE40116 – Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. These may have been obtained as electives under TAE40110 – Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (Superseded) or as part of their study in another VET program(s). In these cases, credit transfer will be granted for TAELLN411 – Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills and/or TAEASS502 – Design and develop assessment tools as part of the upgrade process.

  • Completed and obtained TAE40110 – Certificate IV in Training and Assessment certificate and transcript.
  • You must be able to demonstrate vocational competency in your proposed teaching and assessing area. *Vocational competency is defined as broad industry knowledge and experience and may include holding a relevant unit of competency or qualification.
  • You must have a computer with internet access, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint installed.
  • You must provide a valid ID with your picture and signature

  • Resources are hosted on the student portal and can be accessed 24/7
  • Course duration maybe varied depending on individual circumstances
  • TAE College will provide free initial assessment
  • You can start your TAE40116 – Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (upgrade)  training any time throughout the year.
  • You will have up to 12 months to complete the course from your enrolment date through mixed mode online learning.

Completing all the units of competency within this qualification will lead to the issuance of a TAE40116 – Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, including a transcript of all completed units. Learners that successfully complete individual units of competency, but not the whole qualification, will be eligible to receive a Statement of Attainment detailing the completed units.
